For the feature article, I interviewed one of the DJs at Renegade Live, DJ TC. Here is the interview which I will be using:

1) How long have you been DJing?
10 years

2) How did you get into DJing?
Didnt like what was on normal radio stations so decided to set up Renegade in 2000

3) What was your most memorable event?
FACE PARTY which is “The biggest party on the earth ”, ROB, the other co owner of Renegade and I know the owner. Rob and I went to FaceParty in 2001, there were about 9000 people there. There was a maze so we went in and got lost so we sat down in a dead end for a fag and these guys come along and joined us and we got chatting, they asked where we were from and we said Essex as FaceParty was in London, they asked if we’d listened to Renegade 107.4FM, we looked at each other and said “yes”, they were like we play on it and we look at each other and said “do ya?” So after about 30 minutes of them telling us about “Renegade” they left, me and Rob just looked at each other and pissed ourselves laughing! We’d never seen them before in our lives and we never told them that we owned it! It still makes me smile today!

4) Does it ever go wrong?
Most of the time everything goes smoothly, there are occasionally technical problems in the studio or when we are playing live, but most of the time we get them sorted straight away. Because we are always playing, when there are problems in studio, we stick a pre recorded podcast on so the audience still remain listening. There was one time when we were playing live and there were a group of young lads that starting shouting abuse at all the DJs and threw some drinks at us which broke some of the equpiment. It turns out they were underage and they got kicked out of the club. Luckily, we had a DJ living close by who come along with some replacement equipment and we were able to carry on and ended up having a brilliant night.

5) What are your plans for the future?
I will always remain a DJ because I have so much fun and meet loads of talented people. Renegade Live is continuing to grow so hopefully there will be some new business ventures in the near future. We have two more live events coming up soon and we'll have more famous people playing and have some more great raves!
