The photos

The following photos are ones I have taken myself using a SLR camera which have been used within the four pages of my magazine, many more photographs were taken at the live event and I have printed a index print for evidence of the other photos. For the photoshoot, I had to complete various procedures to help organise and validate my photography. The tasks included completing location recces, model release forms and a commision estimate; all of these tasks would have been carried out in the media industry for a similar task. I have used Adobe Photoshop to edit the photographs and the processes have been included in my blog named "Editing my photos". The final photographs were then placed into Adobe InDesign to form my magazine "SHINDIG Whirl".

I have chosen this photo because it gives a good idea of the atmosphere at the event.

I have chosen this photo because Ratpack was the feature of the launch party and I feel it is important to have him in the picture. This is the best one out of the photos of Ratpack because it is an action shot with him directly facing the camera, whereas the others had slight errors in them.


I have chosen this photo because in my drafts I had planned to add the playlist of the evening and needed photographs of each of the DJs.

I have chosen this photo because I wanted pictures of each of the DJs and this shot shows the energy and excitement in the set.

I have chosen this photo because I have used a tripod to take the photo using the timer on the camera enabling me to show my knowledge of the camera and shooting. This also shows the DJ which could be used for the playlist.

I have chosen this photo because often events are promoted by ladies so this is good advertising and promoting for the evening.

I have chosen the following photos because I wanted a gadgets section in the magazine and would combine a selection of music related products.

I have chosen this photo because a main inspiration for my magazine was the lighting in the clubs and at gigs and tours. This image is clear and shows the strobe lighting well against the black background.

I have chosen this photo because of the man enjoying himself and dancing, shows variety in the music taste as this isnt the general wear for a dance genre fan.

I have chosen this photo because lighting was a key aspect of the inspiration, it is colourful yet shows a contrast between the colours. Slightly hazed over with the smoke machine, gives impresssion of alcohol related outlook.

I have chosen this photo because the original logo I had for the magazine wasn't clear enough so with this image I can crop the logo and dony necessary editing to the image.
